Available Position: Full-Time Pastor
About Us:
Aurora Mennonite Church (AMC) is a welcoming Anabaptist congregation located in the vibrant community of Aurora, Ohio. Rooted in the Mennonite tradition and affiliated with the Lancaster Mennonite Conference, AMC is deeply committed to biblical teaching, peace, believer’s baptism, and mutual aid. We strive to uphold the authority of Scripture and follow God’s mission in the world by bringing hope to the hopeless, peace to the distressed, and the light of Jesus to all we meet.
Our vision is to be known as a welcoming place for families and individuals, where we offer giving and helpful outreach to the community. Though not a traditional Mennonite church, we are steadfast in our mission to grow our congregation and deepen our connection with the community, particularly by welcoming and discipling young families.
A typical Sunday service at AMC includes a warm welcome, a time of congregational singing, scripture reading, prayer, a sermon, a response song, and a benediction. Services generally last just under one hour, and once a month, the congregation shares communion and participates in a special time of prayer and anointing. Music is a central part of AMC’s worship, with 15-20 minutes of singing at the beginning of the service and at least one song following the sermon. The church draws from a mix of contemporary worship music, choruses, and hymns.
AMC is a spiritually and emotionally healthy congregation with a strong sense of unity and family. We are open to new ideas and approaches to ministry and are actively seeking growth through community outreach and innovative programs. Over the next five years, we envision expanding our reach in the community and growing our congregation.
